David Dastmalchian delivers a compelling portrayal as the late-night host, and Ingrid Torelli gives a standout performance as a mysterious child rescued from a cult house appearing as a guest on his show.
Production design is often the least mentioned but one of the most important elements that, along with the other mise-en-scène, helps create a fictional world for its viewers. In ‘Late Night with the Devil,’ it is the production design that deserves applause for its flawless and captivating depiction of a 70s talk show.
Made on a low budget, the film, unfortunately, drew attention for its use of AI in generating three 1970s title cards for a 1970s talk show that serves as a backdrop of the story. However, the use of AI is way too little to take away the credit for its brilliant writing and innovative idea that film offers.
